How to Make Money With AI Videos & Images (2026 Guide)

How to make money with AI videos and images in 2026: 7 honest ways, what each costs, the YouTube and TikTok payout rules and the AI money scams to avoid.

The Honest Answer: AI Is a Production Tool, Not an Income Stream

You can make money with AI videos and images, but not from the AI itself. The money comes from the same places it always has: businesses that need product photos and ads, viewers who watch your channel, buyers who like your art, brands that sponsor an audience. AI makes the production faster and cheaper. It doesn't find customers, build an audience or make a weak idea work.

That's why so many "make money with AI" promises fall apart. If a course or tool says you'll earn passively by pressing a button, it's selling the dream, not a business. The seven approaches below are the ones that hold up, because each one sells a result someone already pays for, and each one can be done with the image and video tools in Spicy Studio.

For every way, you'll find what you sell, who pays, what it takes, what it costs in credits and the rules that apply, with a link to the full lesson. All seven are part of the free Spicy Academy "Make money with AI" track.

1. Product Photos for Online Sellers

What you sell. White-background main images and lifestyle shots for products on Amazon, Etsy, Shopify and other stores, made from the seller's own photo of the real item.

What it takes. The Background Remover (4 credits per image), product templates (18 credits), scenes in Nano Banana 2.1 (12 credits at 2K) and Image Upscale (10 credits to 4K).

The rules. Every marketplace expects the product to look exactly like what buyers receive. Amazon's main image must be on pure white with no text or props, and since 2026 Amazon requires a metadata tag on images and videos that show a photorealistic, fully AI-generated person. Etsy asks for real photos of the actual item.

2. AI UGC Ads for Brands

What you sell. Short, phone-style video ads with an AI presenter who explains and demonstrates the real product.

What it takes. A presenter image in the Image Lab, a talking clip from Seedance 2.5 or Lip Sync with your own recorded voice, and product B-roll from Kling 3.0. A 20-second ad typically costs about 360–800 credits.

The rules. No fake testimonials: an AI presenter can't claim to be a customer. In the US, the FTC's rule on consumer reviews and testimonials, in force since October 2024, bans them, including AI-generated ones. TikTok requires AI-generated ads to be disclosed.

3. Product Video Ads From One Photo

What you sell. 5–15 second motion clips for product pages, Reels and TikTok, animated from a still of the real product.

What it takes. Kling 3.0 for controlled shots (60 credits for 5 seconds at Standard), Seedance 2.5 for longer clips with sound and Veo 3.1 for cinematic 8-second shots.

The rules. The product must look as it really is, and claims must be true.

4. A Faceless YouTube or TikTok Channel

What you sell. Attention: videos that earn through platform payouts, sponsorships and affiliate links once the channel has an audience.

What it takes. Your own scripts and voice, with AI visuals from the Image Lab and Video Lab. An 8-minute explainer built from stills and short clips costs about 960 credits before retries.

The rules. YouTube doesn't monetize mass-produced, templated videos, which it has called "inauthentic content" since July 2025, and in July 2026 it clarified that AI personas posing as human experts can also cost a channel its eligibility. Realistic AI content must be disclosed. YouTube's Partner Program needs 1,000 subscribers plus 4,000 watch hours or 10 million Shorts views, and YouTube says the bar rises for new applicants on February 1, 2027. TikTok's Creator Rewards Program isn't available in Canada or Australia as of September 2026.

5. Selling AI Art and Images

What you sell. Prints, posters and products through Etsy, print-on-demand sites or your own store, or images through stock sites that accept AI.

What it takes. High-resolution generations in the Image Lab and an 8K upscale for large prints. A 12-print collection costs roughly 790 credits including retries.

The rules. Etsy and Adobe Stock accept AI art with disclosure; Shutterstock, Getty Images and iStock don't accept it. In the US, purely AI-generated images aren't protected by copyright.

6. An AI Influencer

What you sell. Sponsored posts, affiliate recommendations, AI content for brands and subscriptions, built on a consistent fictional persona.

What it takes. A consistent face, regular Reels and a real audience, which takes months. The hands-on lessons are in the AI OFM & AI influencers track.

The rules. The FTC's 2023 update to its Endorsement Guides clarified that they cover virtual influencers, Canada's Ad Standards guidelines name AI influencers explicitly, and Instagram doesn't recommend accounts that repeatedly feature a photorealistic AI person unless they use its AI-generated profile label.

7. Selling AI Photo and Video Services

What you sell. Packages of the work above, such as product photo sets, product clips and UGC-style ads, to small businesses directly or through Fiverr and Upwork.

What it takes. A portfolio, a way to find clients and clear packages. Fiverr allows AI in every category but expects customized deliveries and bans deepfakes; Upwork recommends telling clients how you use AI.

Which One Should You Start With?

You have time but no audience: start with services (ways 1, 2, 3 and 7). Businesses pay for deliverables now, without waiting for followers.

You like making things and can be patient: a faceless channel or an AI art collection builds an asset, but expect many uploads before any income.

You already have an audience: sponsorships, affiliate links, AI UGC for brands and a paid membership are the natural next steps. How to Create Content for Stacked With AI shows what to make for a membership platform.

You're 18+ and interested in subscription platforms: the business model and rules are covered separately in Make Money With AI OFM, within each platform's rules for fictional, clearly adult personas.

How to Make Money With AI With No Money

Every lesson in the Spicy Academy is free to read, and the hands-on playbook is free with a Spicy Studio account (two advanced workflows need Spicy Pro). New accounts get 25 free credits, which cover a few experiments: a product cut-out (4 credits) and a scene (12), or a presenter image (9–10). Video costs more: a 5-second Seedance 2.5 clip at 480p is 50 credits and a 5-second Kling 3.0 Standard clip is 60, so most people add a €2 top-up (90 credits) or the €10 Basic plan (600 credits a month) once they know what they want to make.

The most cost-efficient start is a service: make free samples from a business's existing photos, and spend credits on paid work once a client says yes.

AI Money Scams and Red Flags

AI is the new costume for old business-opportunity schemes. Be careful with anything that:

Promises income or "passive" profits. Legitimate courses describe skills and costs, not guaranteed earnings.

Shows income screenshots as proof. They're easy to fake and say nothing about typical results.

Sells a "done-for-you AI store" or "automated" channel. Someone else's automation still needs your money up front, and the FTC has shut down several schemes built on exactly this pitch (below).

Pressures you to buy now. Countdown timers, "last spots" and upsells to a "mastermind" are sales tactics, not information.

Regulators have acted against exactly these pitches. The FTC's Operation AI Comply (September 2024) included several companies that claimed AI could help people make money through online stores; by mid-2025 Ascend Ecom, Ecommerce Empire Builders and FBA Machine had been banned from selling business opportunities. Later cases include Click Profit (2025), Growth Cave (January 2026), whose operators were banned from selling business opportunities after the FTC alleged false promises of significant income that cost consumers nearly $50 million, and Publishing.com (April 2026), which agreed to pay $1.5 million over income claims for its "AI Publishing Academy".

The FTC has also warned that showing earnings figures implies they're typical, and that "results not typical" fine print doesn't fix that. Canada's Competition Bureau lists misleading claims about employment or business opportunities among deceptive marketing practices, and Australian Consumer Law bans false claims about the profitability of work-from-home businesses. If a deal looks wrong, check the FTC's consumer advice, the Competition Bureau or Scamwatch's page on job and employment scams.

Rules That Apply to Every AI Side Hustle

Disclose AI and paid relationships. Use each platform's AI labels for realistic content, and disclose sponsorships, gifts and affiliate links. Regulators in all three markets (the FTC, the Competition Bureau and the ACCC) treat hidden ads as misleading.

No fake reviews or testimonials. An AI-generated person can present a product but can't be a customer.

Consent for faces and voices. Never use a real person's likeness or voice without permission. It's against Spicy Studio's Terms, and it can break privacy, publicity and deepfake laws.

Know your copyright limits. Purely AI-generated images aren't protected by copyright in the US, so don't promise clients or buyers exclusive rights you may not have.

Taxes. Side-hustle income is generally taxable in the US, Canada and Australia. AI Services to Sell has starting points for the IRS, CRA and ATO rules.

Earnings Disclaimer

This guide teaches skills. It is not a promise of income or a business opportunity, and it isn't legal, tax or financial advice. We don't know what you will earn: some people earn nothing, and some lose money on tools, ads or courses. Results depend on your skills, effort, market, costs and luck. If you make income claims, run ads or post endorsements, you're responsible for following the law where you sell: the FTC in the US, the Competition Bureau in Canada and the ACCC in Australia all treat misleading earnings claims, fake reviews and hidden ads as illegal. None of these regulators has reviewed or endorsed this guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you really make money with AI?

+

Yes, but the money comes from customers, viewers and buyers, not from the AI. The approaches that hold up sell a result someone already pays for, such as product photos, ads, videos or art, and use AI to make it faster. Results vary and nothing is guaranteed.

How can a beginner make money with AI videos?

+

Start with a service: short product videos or UGC-style ads for small businesses, made from their own product photos. It needs no audience, and the work can be shown in a portfolio. A faceless channel is the slower route, because it needs many uploads before any platform pays.

Can you make money with AI-generated videos on YouTube?

+

Yes, if the channel qualifies for the YouTube Partner Program and the videos aren't mass-produced or templated, which YouTube calls inauthentic content. Original scripts, your own voice and real variety matter, and realistic AI content must be disclosed.

Can you make money with AI videos on TikTok?

+

Through brand deals, affiliate links and, where it's available, TikTok's Creator Rewards Program for original videos of at least a minute. As of September 2026 Creator Rewards isn't available in Canada or Australia, and realistic AI content must be labeled.

How can I make money with AI images?

+

Sell product photos to online sellers, sell art through Etsy or print-on-demand sites that allow AI, or license images through stock sites that accept AI, such as Adobe Stock. Shutterstock, Getty Images and iStock don't accept AI uploads.

How do I start making money with AI with no money?

+

Learn for free: every Spicy Academy lesson is free to read, and new Spicy Studio accounts get 25 free credits for first experiments. Make free samples for a business from their existing photos, and only buy credits (from €2 for 90) once you know what you'll make.

Do AI side hustles actually pay?

+

Some do, many don't. The ones that pay usually sell a clear deliverable to businesses or build an audience over time. Be wary of any program that promises passive income or shows income screenshots as proof.
