AI Image Upscaler: Sharpen and Enlarge Photos to 2K, 4K or 8K

Image Upscale turns a small or soft picture into a larger, cleaner file. Upload a photo, an illustration or a render from the Image Lab, choose 2K, 4K or 8K, and the Ultimate Image Upscaler enlarges it while clearing compression artifacts and keeping the original texture.

The upscaler is generative. Rather than only stretching the pixels you already have, it redraws fine detail at the new size. That is what brings crispness back, and also why tiny features can change, so look closely at faces, small text and logos before a file goes to print or to a client.

How to upscale an image in four steps

  1. Add your image

Upload one JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP file of up to 50 MB. Made it in Spicy Studio? Press Upscale on the finished image and it opens here.

  2. Choose the target size

2K costs 8 credits, 4K costs 10 and 8K costs 12. Pick the size the picture will actually be shown or printed at.

  3. Pick a file format

Save the result as JPEG for a compact file, PNG when you want lossless quality for further editing, or WebP for websites.

  4. Upscale, check, download

The credit cost appears next to the Upscale button before anything is spent, and a failed job is refunded. Most images are ready in a few seconds: zoom in on the details, then download.

One model, three output sizes

  • Ultimate Image Upscaler

A generative upscaler that works on one image at a time. It removes artifacts, preserves texture and re-creates fine detail as it scales, then saves as JPEG, PNG or WebP.

  • 2K · 8 credits

The lightest option, for pictures that live on screens: social posts, web pages and shop listings.

  • 4K · 10 credits

Product photos that shoppers zoom into, slides and wallpapers. If you’re unsure, start here.

  • 8K · 12 credits

Posters, prints and images you plan to crop hard later. It also makes the biggest file.

Prices and strengths of every other model in the studio are on the AI Models page.

What people upscale

  • AI images headed for print, such as an Image Lab render enlarged to 8K for a poster or a canvas.
  • Product photos for an online shop that need to stay crisp when shoppers zoom in.
  • Scanned prints and small photos from older phone cameras.
  • Illustrations and concept art you want to show bigger than they were drawn.
  • Thumbnails and cover images that turn soft once they’re stretched to full width.

Check these before you publish

Because detail is re-created, compare faces with the original, read small text letter by letter and hold logos against the real artwork. If a brand mark or a line of type has drifted, place the original back on top in your editor instead of relying on the enlarged version.

Image Upscale FAQ

How many credits does an upscale cost?

8 credits for 2K, 10 for 4K and 12 for 8K, and the cost is shown before you confirm. New accounts get 25 free credits, enough for three 2K upscales or two at 8K.

Which files can I upload?

One image at a time, up to 50 MB, as JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP. The upscaled version can be saved as JPEG, PNG or WebP.

Will upscaling change my picture?

The composition and texture stay, but fine detail is re-created as the image grows, so very small features can shift. Check faces, small text and logos against the original before you use the file.

Can I upscale an image I generated in Spicy Studio?

Yes. Every finished image has an Upscale button that opens it in this tool, so there’s no need to download it and upload it again.

Should I always pick 8K?

Not necessarily. A bigger file costs more credits and holds detail most screens can’t display, so 8K pays off mainly for print and heavy cropping.

Can I use upscaled images commercially?

Under the Terms you own what you generate, subject to the licences of the underlying models. You need the rights to the image you upload, and outputs carry metadata that marks them as AI-generated.

What happens to the images I upload?

They are processed by Spicy Studio and the AI provider that runs the model, stored temporarily while the job runs and may be kept for service improvement. You keep ownership and can ask for deletion at any time; the Privacy Policy has the details.
