Grok Spicy Mode Alternative: A Separate Studio for 18+ Images and Clips

Whatever Grok’s spicy mode offers you is up to xAI: access, features and price are decided by xAI and may vary by plan, app version and region. If you would rather work somewhere built only for adult pictures and clips, Spicy Studio is an independent option with four Spicy models, credits you buy as you go and 25 free credits on sign-up.

Most of this page describes Spicy Studio; the first section is a short, dated summary of public reporting about Grok’s spicy mode. Nothing on it explains Grok’s settings or how to get past a content filter, ours or anyone else’s.

Spicy Studio is independent and has no affiliation with xAI. The names Grok and xAI belong to their trademark owners.

Adults only (18+). Every person you show must be an adult, either fictional or real and consenting: never a minor, never a real person who hasn’t agreed. Full rules: Terms of Service.

What happened to Grok spicy mode

People coming from Grok often ask whether spicy mode was removed. Here is what has been reported, with dates and sources, as of October 2026. Spicy Studio has no inside knowledge of xAI: only xAI can say what your account will show, and that can differ by plan, region and app version.

  • Early August 2025: spicy mode arrived as one of the modes in Grok Imagine, xAI’s image and video tool, as launch coverage from Tom’s Guide and TechRadar reported at the time.
  • January 9, 2026: image generation and editing through Grok on X became limited to paying subscribers, TechCrunch reported that day. The standalone Grok app was not affected at the time.
  • March 19, 2026: free accounts lost Grok Imagine in the Grok apps, PiunikaWeb reported, and an xAI employee wrote on X that it had become paid-only because of user growth.
  • Since then: we found no xAI announcement that spicy mode has been removed.

Access and prices on Grok change often, so check xAI’s own plans page for the current Grok Imagine pricing. Spicy Studio’s prices are in the cost table below and on the pricing page.

Three questions to answer before you switch

A new tool is only worth the effort if it fits how you work. Start here:

  1. What do you make most? Single images, edits of pictures you already have, or clips? Spicy Studio covers all three: two image models at 1K or 2K, and two video models, with clips as long as 30 seconds and sound on Wan 3.0.
  2. How do you want to pay? Credit packs start at €2 and never expire; monthly plans run from €10 to €80. The studio shows what each run costs before you generate.
  3. What do you need on privacy? Nobody else sees your generations unless you share them, there is no public feed, and spicy work never appears in Spicy Studio’s marketing.

If those answers point to images, edits and short clips paid for with credit packs, read on. If the tool you use now already gives you what you need, there may be no reason to move.

What you can bring with you, and what stays behind

  • Your own images: yes, as references or as the first frame of a clip, provided you’re allowed to use them and everyone shown is an adult who is fictional or has given documented consent. The terms of the service that made them may apply too.
  • Your ideas and prompts: yes, but expect to rewrite them. Every model reads prompts differently, and Wan 3.0 uses yours exactly as typed, with no automatic expansion.
  • Pictures of real people who haven’t consented: no. That rule has no exceptions.
  • Characters from existing series or games: no. They are someone else’s intellectual property.

Rewriting a short prompt for Wan 3.0

Some tools expand a few words into a full description for you. Wan 3.0 doesn’t, so a short prompt gives a vague clip. For example:

  • Short: “woman in her thirties dancing in a neon club”.
  • Rewritten: “A woman in her thirties with a sleek ponytail and a sequined slip dress dances alone at the edge of a crowded neon club, then turns slowly toward the camera; handheld camera, magenta and blue light; heavy bass and crowd noise.”

The rewrite gives an adult age, one main action, the camera, the light and the sound. Spicy UNCENSORED rewards the same kind of detail for images, while HappyHorse 1.1 needs little more than the movement. More examples are in the prompt guide.

What typical jobs cost

Every model spends the same credits. A few common jobs, priced per run:

Subscription credits renew each billing cycle, and unused ones don’t carry over. Pack credits stay on your account until you use them. All plans include every model.

Plan credits don’t roll over, so a plan makes most sense if you create every month. Packs suit occasional sessions, from Spark (€2) up to Nova (€50, 3,100 credits), because their credits wait for you. Details are on the pricing page.

What Spicy Studio doesn’t do

Better to know now than after you sign up:

  • No chat, companions or voice. Spicy Studio makes pictures and clips, nothing else.
  • No app. It runs in a desktop or phone browser.
  • No 4K on the Spicy image models. They stop at 2K.
  • No adult content on the other models. Only the four Spicy models accept it; the 20+ mainstream models don’t.
  • No sound on HappyHorse 1.1. For audio, use Wan 3.0.
  • No workarounds. An automated safety filter checks every prompt, and the studio publishes no ways around it or around any other service’s filters.

Getting set up

  1. Create an account. It is free and comes with 25 credits.
  2. Open a model from the Spicy model list.
  3. Give the one-time 18+ confirmation and agree to the content rules; your account keeps both.
  4. Add pictures you have permission to use, or begin with a prompt alone.
  5. Check the credit cost the studio shows, then generate.

Questions and answers

Did Grok remove spicy mode?

Not as far as we can find: xAI hasn’t announced a removal. What an account shows can differ by plan, region and app version. Whether your account has it is decided by xAI, so xAI’s support is the place to ask. Spicy Studio can’t switch Grok features on, and it doesn’t try to bypass them.

Is Grok Imagine still free?

It depends on the account and the app, and it has changed more than once: PiunikaWeb reported on March 19, 2026 that free accounts had lost Grok Imagine in the iOS and Android apps. xAI’s own plans page has the current answer. On Spicy Studio, new accounts get 25 free credits, which cover images but not video, and credit packs start at €2.

Is Spicy Studio part of xAI?

No. Spicy Studio is independent and has no affiliation with xAI or Grok, whose names belong to their trademark owners.

Can I use Spicy Studio without a subscription?

Yes. Buy credit packs when you need them, from €2; pack credits never expire. New accounts also get 25 free credits, which cover images.

Can I upload pictures I made with Grok or another tool?

Yes, as long as you hold the rights and every person in them is an adult who is fictional or has given documented consent. The terms of the tool that created them may apply too; ours are in the Terms of Service.

Do the clips have sound?

Clips from Wan 3.0 do, at no extra cost. HappyHorse 1.1 makes silent clips.

Is my work private?

By default, yes. Nobody else can open your generations unless you share them, nothing goes to a public feed, and spicy work is never used to promote Spicy Studio. To produce each result, the company running the model receives your prompt and uploads.

House rules for 18+ content

  • You must be at least 18, or your local age of majority where that is higher, and you may only use the Spicy models where doing so is legal.
  • Depict adults only, fictional or real, and real adults only with their consent. Each character must be adult in both age and appearance.
  • Nothing involving a minor or anyone who looks under 18. Breaking this rule closes the account, and the violation is reported.
  • A real person who can be identified may appear only with their documented consent.
  • Sexual content that is violent or non-consensual is banned, and so is bestiality.
  • No content that infringes another party’s intellectual property, including existing characters from anime, manga, games or films.
  • Your generations are visible only to your account until you decide to share them. From then on, complying with the law and with each platform’s rules is your job.

We don’t publish methods for getting past any service’s content filters, Spicy Studio’s own included.

This box only summarizes. For the complete rules, read the Terms of Service.

New accounts start with 25 free credits, enough to test 4 images before you pay anything.
