Seedance AI Dance Video: Turn One Image Into a Routine

Make an AI dance video from one full-body image with Seedance 2.5 or 2.0, or copy a real routine with Kling 3.0 Motion Control. Prompts, settings and costs.

Invent the Dance or Copy One?

First decide: should the model invent the moves, or copy a routine that already exists?

Invent it with Seedance. Give Seedance 2.5 or Seedance 2.0 a full-body first frame and describe the moves. Five seconds at 480p costs 35 credits on 2.0 and 50 on 2.5.

Copy it with Kling 3.0 Motion Control. In Character Swap, a driving video moves your character step for step, for 20 credits a second on Standard.

Step 1: Make a Frame That Can Dance

Make the still with Nano Banana 2.1 (12 credits at 2K) or GPT Image 2.5 (9 at 1K medium, plus 1 per reference). A dance frame needs the whole body in shot, hands clear of the body, a plain floor and background, clothes that show motion, and 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts.

“Full-body phone photo, vertical 9:16: a 27-year-old woman in a loose white T-shirt, wide-leg cargo pants and sneakers in an empty dance studio with pale wood floors, arms relaxed, feet hip-width apart, space above her head and below her feet, soft daylight.”

Step 2: Prompt the Moves in Seedance

In the Video Lab, attach the still as the First Frame. - Seedance 2.5: 4–30 seconds at 480p, 720p or 1080p (10, 22 or 39 credits a second). The aspect ratio follows the frame; audio is on by default. - Seedance 2.0: 5–15 seconds at 480p or 720p (7 or 15 credits a second). Switch 16:9 to 9:16 and turn on Camera Fixed for a locked-off shot; audio is off by default.

Audio doesn't change the price. If you'll post with a song from the platform's sound library, switch it off so the generated sound doesn't clash.

Write four parts: the camera, the style and tempo, three or four moves joined by “then”, and the final pose.

“Static camera at hip height, full body in frame. She dances an upbeat hip-hop groove: bounces on the beat, rolls her shoulders twice, steps side to side, then spins one full turn and ends facing the camera, arms out. Natural weight and fabric movement, realistic.”

Draft 5–8 seconds at 480p; 8 seconds is 56 credits on 2.0 or 80 on 2.5. If limbs smear, use fewer moves or a slower tempo. If the feet slide, say they stay planted. To end on a set pose, add a still of your character in it as the Last Frame. More on structure: the Seedance prompt guide.

Need a Real Rhythm? Use References Instead of a Frame

Seedance can also follow a reference video's motion and timing, or take cues from reference audio, but not together with frames: once a First or Last Frame is set, Seedance 2.0 turns those slots off and 2.5 sends only the frames.

So leave both frame slots empty, add your full-body still as a reference image (up to 10 on 2.5, 7 on 2.0), then attach a reference video (2–30 seconds on 2.5, 2–15 on 2.0), reference audio (up to 30 or 15 seconds) or both. Set 9:16 yourself; the default is 16:9.

A reference video bills reference plus output seconds, at 6 credits a second on 2.5 at 480p or 4 on 2.0, so an 8-second clip from an 8-second reference is 96 or 64 credits. The tested setup for copying a clip's motion and sound is in the complex motion workflow (Spicy Pro).

Copy a Routine With Kling 3.0 Motion Control

Open Character Swap with Kling 3.0 Motion Control: - Driving video: 3–30 seconds, one dancer, full body visible throughout, a simple background, no cuts, a steady camera. - Character image: your character in the video's opening pose and framing, up to 10 MB; the motion-control workflow shows how to recreate it. - Keep Original Audio: on by default, so the music stays. - Prompt and negative prompt: optional.

Standard is 20 credits a second and Pro 27, with at least 3 seconds billed: a 12-second routine is 240 or 324 credits. More in the Kling 3.0 Motion Control guide.

Rights and Consent

Use only driving videos and songs you made or have permission to use: a trend is an idea, but a creator's clip or a choreographer's routine is their work. Don't animate real people without their consent; Spicy Studio's Terms prohibit realistic images of identifiable real people without it. Use a fictional adult or yourself, and label the clip as AI when you post.
